Following Stewardship Saturday, Outreach Assistant Ranger will host a Holiday Hike at our native remnant prairie, Williams Prairie from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Our native prairies bring surprises and delight year-round, including during the holiday season!

We’ll start off our hike by noticing the shades of the prairie, bright hues of the greens and reds we associate with December decorations, and the subtler shades of browns, yellows, and oranges. We’ll look for seeds and berries that feed animals through the winter, for scat, and for birds, insects, and signs of other animals. As we finish our walk, we’ll cut some dormant grass stems to braid into a decoration to take home.
