Seed Collecting
Please join us and enjoy mornings on the prairie, while collecting seeds of native prairie plants for use in the Coastal Prairie Seed Increase Program, restoration projects, city pocket prairies, and the Great Grow Out.
Seed collecting trips are scheduled throughout the year, but mostly in fall. Click the button below to view upcoming dates. To be placed on the Coastal Prairie Conservancy's seed collecting email list, please join our volunteer opportunities email list. Be sure to check the volunteer box and look out for our monthly volunteer newsletter in your inbox with announcements and information about seed collecting days. Email Lanif you’d like to receive special announcements on individual seed collecting trips.
No experience is necessary. Collectors are very welcome to take some seeds home to grow or share with friends; volunteers collecting for other organizations are also welcome.
