Stewardship Saturdays
Are you looking for a way to get your hands dirty on the prairie? Look no further, and join us for a Stewardship Saturday! We welcome corporate groups, service organizations, and individuals on the second Saturday of each month at the Indiangrass Preserve to contribute to the success of this program.

Stewardship Saturday volunteers help combat invasive species, clear fences of vegetation, and restore prairie habitats.
Where: Coastal Prairie Conservancy Indiangrass Preserve — 31975 Hebert Road, Waller, TX 77484. (Groups will sometimes depart together to complete work on other Coastal Prairie Conservancy Preserves.)
When: Second Saturday of Each Month | 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. May–Sept. | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Oct.–April
Who: All are welcome to participate — no experience necessary. Groups larger than 10 individuals, please contact amy@coastalprairieconservancy.org to register.
How to join: Please register below so we can email you with final reminders and work day updates.
Physical Requirements: Bending, kneeling, or sitting on the ground; some light lifting.
What to wear: Closed-toed shoes (boots preferred), tall socks, long pants, long-sleeved shirt, hat.
What to bring: Reusable water bottle, and gardening gloves (or we have pairs to borrow). All other tools are provided.
Volunteer benefits: Stewardship Saturday volunteers are welcome to hike and explore the preserve after the volunteer event. (Indiangrass Preserve is open until 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.) Volunteers also occasionally get to visit some of our preserves that are closed to the public.
Coastal Prairie Conservancy’s policy on working with minors
Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian complete a waiver. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Group leaders: Please maintain a 1:10 chaperone-to-youth ratio and ensure all minors are registered in advance.
